Today's Guest Speaker will be Michael Piczak, who teaches within the Faculty of Engineering and previously in the Faculty of Business at McMaster University.

The purpose of Mike's presentation will be to provide a first look at a topic receiving considerable attention the last number of years.  Understanding "Sustainability" will permit humans to better manage limited planetary assets, in order to continue our general standard of living in the present while simultaneously ensuring resource sufficiency for succeeding generations.  What we do now will impact the condition of our planet and living standards in the future.

  • Mohawk College, Industrial Management Technology (1977)
  • McMaster University, Bachelor of Commerce, MBA (1984/86)
  • Mohawk College faculty for 30+ years in engineering and business
  • McMaster business faculty teaching MBA and undergraduate courses and Faculty of Engineering since 1985
  • Previously, chair of management stream within Bachelor of Technology programs, McMaster U.
  • Currently, teaches strategy formulation, entrepreneurship, creativity and critical thinking
  • Dozen plus publications and delivered papers at numerous discipline specific conferences
  • Research program manager for smart grid & renewable energy technologies, McMaster U.
  • Spoke at Rotary on wisdom in engineering and management, 2019
  • Willingly supplies bad golf, tennis and cycling advice
